National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day

Lake County Sheriff office and City of Madison Police Depatment

On September 27, 2014, from 10am to 2pm, the Drug Enforcement Administration will coordinate a collaborative effort with state and local law enforcement agencies focused on removing potentially dangerous controlled substances from our nation’s medicine cabinets. This national take-back day will provide a unified opportunity for the public to surrender expired, unwanted, or unused pharmaceutical controlled substances and other medications to law enforcement officers for destruction. This one-day effort will bring national focus to the issue of prescription drug abuse.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office and the Madison Police Department will be participating in this program on September 27th . We encourage city residents as well as county residents to bring their expired, unwanted, or unused prescription drugs to either the sheriff’s office or police department during this time if possible for destruction. If the time or date is not convenient you are welcome to bring the drugs to either department, anytime and we will store them in our vault until the time for disposal. Thank you for cooperating and for your participation in this important event.
