National Geographic Producer Kelly Sweet

Emmy-award winning National Geographic Producer Kelly Sweet will be on-campus Friday, November 14 at 12:00 p.m. in the Science Center Auditorium to talk about her professional experience as a wildlife documentary producer.

Sweet has worked on over 20 National Geographic documentaries spanning North America, Asia, Africa, Australia and Central America. She won an Emmy for cinematography last year for her work on “Untamed Americas". Along with her work on National Geographic documentaries, she has served as producer and wildlife consultant on National Geographic Kids “Mission: Animal Rescue” and line producer for the 3-minute short “World Food Day Celebration” in Central Park for the Michael Kors Foundation, UN World Food Program and NG Creative.

Sweet has a variety of other regional and international nominations and awards for National Geographic Natural History programs. She has also been an Associate Producer for a Mutual of Omaha Wild Kingdom/Animal Planet documentary and worked for NOVA/PBS.

The presentation will be about her biology background and how it served as a gateway into the film industry, specifically natural history. Sweet will also share stories from her last seven years in the field and video clips of the final product. The talk will last around one hour and it is free to attend.
