Independent Living Choices

Independent Living Choices is a consumer controlled, community based, cross-disability, non-residential, private, non-profit 501 (c) (3) agency. The mission of the ILC is to empower individuals with disabilities who choose to live independently. The ILC strongly adheres to the independent living philosophy that individuals with disabilities have the right to control and direct their own lives, make decisions and take responsibility for their actions, have opportunities to participate in all aspects of community life, exercise the greatest degree of choice about where to live, with whom to live and how to live, and take risks and be allowed to fail. Eligibility for services are based on the following criteria: 1)any individual with a significant physical or mental impairment whose ability to function independently in the family or community or whose ability to obtain, maintain, or advance in employment is substantial limited, and 2) for whom the delivery of independent living services will improve their ability to function, continue functioning, or move towards functioning independently in the family or community or to continue in employment.
