Madison, SD will be Capital for a Day

PIERRE, S.D. – Gov. Dennis Daugaard announced today that Madison has been chosen to be South Dakota’s Capital for a Day on Wednesday, Aug. 19.

“I look forward to the Madison event, and thank community leaders for offering to host it,” Gov. Daugaard said. “It’s an excellent opportunity for me to become better acquainted with the people of Madison and more informed about the issues affecting their local community.”

The Governor’s activities for the day will include a Main Street walk, business tours, and a community social and coffee hour. The Governor will also hold a roundtable lunch for community leaders to meet and discuss local issues.

“It is a wonderful day when we can host the Governor, First Lady, staff and cabinet members in Madison,” said Mayor Roy Lindsay.

A complete agenda will be released at a later date.
