Bulldogs overcome slow start, rout Harrisburg

The Madison boys' basketball team got back on the winning track Tuesday night in Harrisburg. The fourth-rated Bulldogs routed the Tigers 81-50.

Madison fell behind early in the first quarter, but chipped away to take a 13-5 first quarter lead. The Tigers cut the lead to seven at the half, but the Bulldogs outscored the home team 46-22 in the second half to improve to 11-1 on the season.

Bulldog head coach Mike Ricke says Madison struggled in the first half but was able to find its rhythm the rest of the game.

Tony Fiegen led all scorers with 20 points and six rebounds, earning "Player of the Game" honors. Derrick Wiebe and Chad White each scored 14 as Madison out-rebounded Harrisburg 25-13.

Jordan Titze led the 6-6 Tigers with 13 points, while Patrick Draisey and Adam Pohlman added 11 points each.

The Bulldogs have the rest of the week off, then travel to Hartford on February 5th to face West Central.
