Bulldog lifters take second

Three Bulldogs took home first-place finishes as Madison took second at the OGorman Powerlifting meet. The competition took place last Saturday in Sioux Falls.

Laura Niedert took home first place in the girls competition, with a combined lift of 655 pounds. Zach Hansen and Alex Kotten also took home firsts at 123 and 198 pounds, respectively.

Julian Freitag was runner-up at 198 pounds while David Wiess and Randi Hackett took home third-place finishes. Weiss also set a new Madison High School record in the 181-pound weight class, as he lifted 265 pounds in the bench press.

Madison will be back in action March 7th, when it hosts the 31st Annual South Dakota High School Powerlifting Meet. The meet will take place at the Madison High School Auditorium, starting at 9 AM.
