The Madison boys wrapped up the Big 8 Conference regular season title Friday night with a convincing 73-41 win over Vermillion at the Madison Middle School Gym.
After trailing by one in the first quarter, the Bulldogs led the rest of the way as they improved to 12-2 on the season. Madison head coach Mike Ricke says a big factor of the win was the play by Madisons role players.
With the win, the Bulldogs wrapped up their first Big 8 Conference title in two seasons. Ricke says this is an achievement the kids should take pride in.
Madison faces region rival Sioux Falls Christian tonight. The Chargers are unbeaten and ranked first in the Class A polls. Ricke says tonights game could be a preview of the Region 3-A championship next month.
Tip-off from the DSU Fieldhouse is at 7:30; Matt Hendrickson has the pre-game show at 7:10 on Dakotas Best, AM 1390.
