Bulldogs upset Chargers

A packed house at the DSU Fieldhouse saw the Madison boys' basketball team hand top-ranked Sioux Falls Christian its first loss of the season last night, a 62-56 win over the Chargers.
The Bulldogs started the game with a 7-0 run and lead at the end of the first 16-12. Madison outscored Sioux Falls in the second quarter 19-10 to take a double-digit lead, then held off a late Charger rally in the final minutes of the game to improve to 13-2 on the season.
Chad White led all scorers with 21 points and 9 rebounds for Madison, while Tony Fiegen added 16 points and six rebounds. Jarrett Janke was named the Knology Player of the Game as he finished the night with 11 points, including nailing four free throws in a row to seal the win.
For the 14-1 Chargers, Matt Vande Kamp scored 11 points, while Ethan Blankespoor added 10.
The Bulldogs are back in action Friday as they head to Volga to take on Sioux Valley. That game gets underway at 7:30 on Dakota's Best, AM 1390.
