Giles is Resigning as DSU Director of Development

Chris Giles is resigning as the Director of Development effective March 21st.

Giles has been with Dakota State since 2005 as the Director of Development and President/CEO of the Foundation.

He is returning to the private practice of law with the office of Richard Ericsson of Madison.

Under Giles direction the University started its first-ever capital campaign, setting a goal of $37,000,000.

The Foundation Board of Trustees was expanded from eight members to over 40, many of them coming from across the country.

The University is in the process of reorganizing some functions in the Foundation office and will hope to have a new leader in place within a short time.

Giles played a role in the enhanced visibility and accessibility of the Foundation and Alumni Association with the purchase of the new Foundation/Alumni building on the corner of Washington and 2nd in Madison.

He says the decision to leave was made after much thought and discussion with DSU President Doug Knowlton.

Giles is a 1989 graduate of DSU. He says he will continue to assist the University and the Foundation as it moves forward with the capital campaign.
