Bulldogs repeat as District Champs

The Madison boys' basketball team won its third-straight District title last night as it blew out Howard 91-45 at the Elmen Center in Sioux Falls.
Madison started the game on a 10-0 run, taking an 18-6 first quarter lead. The Bulldogs put the game out of reach in the second quarter as it out-scored the Tigers 26-6 for a 44-12 halftime lead.
Two Bulldogs also reached milestones as Chad White became Madison's all-time scoring leader while Tony Fiegen notched his 1,000th career point.
Fiegen led all scorers with 23 points while White and Ryan Steffensen added 14. Jarret Janke also chipped in 12 points as the Bulldogs out-rebounded Howard 30-18.
For the Tigers, Zach Torkelson scored 15 points while Jeff Larsen added 11.
Madison moves on to the Region 3A Championship on Tuesday, when it plays Sioux Falls Christian at the Elmen Center. Tip-off will be at 7:00 on “Dakota's Best” AM 1390.
