Flu Shot Clinics Scheduled

Flu shots have been available since the beginning of the month, but many are just now getting vaccinated to ensure coverage throughout the transmission season. Thats according to Lake County Public Health Nurse Jen Fouberg.

Fouberg says those most at-risk for contracting the flu are children, those 50 and older, those with long-term health problems, pregnant women, anyone with a weakened immune system, health and daycare providers and those in assisted living or nursing homes. Fouberg also says her goal is to get as many vaccinated as possible this year.

A public walk-in clinic is scheduled for October 24th from 3 to 6 in the Lake County Commission meeting room, and on November 1st from 5 to 7, also in the county commission meeting room.
