Bulldogs drop home finale to Parkston

For the third straight home match the Madison Volleyball team needed a fifth game to decide a winner, and for the third straight home match the Lady Bulldogs came up a few points short.
This time it was the Parkston Trojans that came from behind to beat Madison. The Bulldogs won the first two games by scores of 25 to 16, and 25 to 17. However Parkston took the next three games, 27 to 25, 25 to 17 and 15 to 13, to claim a 3 games to 2 match victory.
Losing three straight games after starting with a 2 to 0 lead was another tough pill to swallow for the Bulldogs. Senior Middle Hitter Alyssa Klapperich said that they just got a little over confident after getting their big lead.
Trojan Middle hitter Kelli Fiegan had a great game for Parkston. Fiegan is 6’ 3” tall and is a solid four inches taller than anyone on the Bulldogs. This made it tough for the middle of the Bulldog defense to stop her. Klapperich said that it was very tough to play against Fiegan.
The 16 and 9 Bulldogs will close out the regular season Thursday as they travel to Arlington, then they will head to Howard for the District 5A tournament October 30th and November 1st.
