Sisseton Muzzles Bulldogs

The Madison Bulldogs completed their second-longest road trip of the season last night as it faced Sisseton in high school football. The Redmen racked up 425 yards of offense as it won 46-6 over the Bulldogs.

Things looked in Madison's favor early as quarterback Chris Shafer scampered 60 yards for a touchdown on the first play of the game. Sisseton responded with a touchdown late in the quarter to tie the game at 6-6, then scored twice in the span of two minutes in the second quarter to take a 20-6 halftime lead. From there, it was all Redmen, as they shut down Madison's offense and scored an additional 26 unanswered points to improve to 2-1 on the season.

For Madison, Shafer was the leading rusher with 114 yards on 13 carries. He also passed for 29 yards and 2 interceptions. Mitch Benson added 11 tackles, defensively.

Sisseton was lead by co-players of the game Ryan Tolle and Tanner Eastman. Tolle passed for 247 yards and 2 touchdowns, while rushing for 114 yards. Eastman ran a punt back 74 yards for a touchdown while rushing for another score.

Madison plays its first home game of the season Friday against defending 11-A champion Dell Rapids.
