Boldt earns Soccer National Youth License

SoccerMadison founder, Jeff Boldt, recently earned his US Youth Soccer National Youth License for coaching.
The five-day course is designed to provide club directors of coaching, youth coaches, physical education teachers and soccer administrators with the knowledge to successfully structure soccer environments for children ages 4-12.
"The course covered everything important to getting SoccerMadison off to a great start," said Boldt. "I look forward to sharing what I learned with other parents who want to get involved with the association."
Regarded as the "A" course for youth coaching, the National Youth License course requires candidates to participate in daily field sessions, lectures and discussions. Candidates are videotaped for analysis during live training sessions, with feedback provided during group discussion sessions. Written reports and a group presentation are also required.
"It was a tough five days, but well worth it," said Boldt. "I want to thank state coaching director Brian Pitts, Dakota Alliance and Steve Cogley of the SDSSA [South Dakota State Soccer Association] for making it possible for me to participate."
SoccerMadison will begin play in the fall of 2011 as a member of SDSSA and US Youth Soccer. A non-profit, all-volunteer organization, the group is dedicated to providing children, families and the community with a positive soccer experience -- at all ages and skill levels -- that emphasizes having fun, getting fit and building character through teamwork and sportsmanship.
US Youth Soccer, the largest member of the United States Soccer Federation, is a nonprofit and educational organization whose mission is to foster the physical, mental and emotional growth and development of America's youth through the sport of soccer at all levels of age and competition.
