Bulldog gymnasts win; wrestlers drop two

The Madison wrestling team dropped a pair of matches yesterday in Vermillion, while the Gymnasts won its season opener at home.

The Bulldog mat-rats lost to a strong Bon Homme team 58-15, as the Cavaliers took 10 of fourteen matches. The Bulldogs ran into a similar fate against Vermillion, as the Tanagers won 51-18. Matt Goth at 103 pounds, Andy Williams at 135 and Mason Riedesel at 215 each recorded 2 wins for the night.

Madison's gymnasts fared better, doubling up on West Central, 133.20 to 64.9. Kassie Finck took the All-Around title, as she completed a four-event sweep in Vault, Bars, Beam, and Floor.

The wrestling team heads north Saturday for the Watertown Dual tournament, starting at 10 a.m. The gymnasts head south to the Wagner Invitational, Saturday at noon.
