A new-look Madison boys’ basketball team pulled away in the second half to win its season opener Friday night over Hamlin, 58-42, at the Middle School Gym.

Four Bulldogs finished the night in double-figures. Junior forward Tony Fiegen earned Player of the Game honors with a 19-point, 12-rebound performance. Ryan Steffenson came off the bench to drain three 3-pointers, finishing with 13 points. Trevor Freet and Derrick Weibe both scored 10 points apiece for the 1-0 Bulldogs.
