Double Overtime Ends Boys Season

An exciting game at the Elmen Center was the last game for the 2010-2011 Madison Boys Basketball team. The Bulldogs faced the Dell Rapids Quarriers on Monday night for the Region 3A Championship game.

On a last second 3-point fall-away shot from Senior Mitch Benson, the Bulldogs tied the game 50-50 taking it into overtime - the first time. Four minutes later, the score was 54-54 resulting in a second overtime. Dell Rapids then pulled out a 63-56 win at the end advancing them to the State A Tournament in Rapid City.

The Bulldogs season ends with a 19-4 record and a great contribution in this Region championship double overtime game from Mitch Benson, 14 points; Mitchell White, 16 points; and Michael Sullivan, 13 points.
