Volunteers Needed For Preliminary Round of State "A" Track Meet

As some of you may already know, Madison is hosting the preliminary round of the State “A” track Meet at Trojan Field on Friday May 27th. This is both a huge undertaking and a great honor for the local organizers of this meet and the city of Madison.

Madison is the smallest city to continue hosting State Track meets because of the success of the past State Meets hosted here.

This is an all day event and requires an enormous amount of local manpower to make this yet another successful Meet in Madison. With this being said, additional workers are still needed to fill various positions, including Ticket Takers (ticket booth is now heated – let’s hope that isn’t needed), Gate Supervisors (this is a State meet and people are needed at all entrances to the track) and Concession Stand workers (many active Booster Club members are helping with other duties, so concession workers are still needed). As stated earlier, this is an all day event -- but that doesn’t necessarily mean we need you to volunteer all day.

If you are willing to help for the day or even a few hours in some of these areas it would be much appreciated. Please contact Madison High School Activities Director Bud Postma if you can help in any way.

You can reach him at Bud.Postma@k12.sd.us or call him at the High School 256-7700.

Thank you in advance for taking your time in helping to make this another successful State Track Meet in Madison.
