Lady Bulldogs head into break with a loss

The Madison girls' basketball team finished the 2007 portion of their schedule last night with a 47-36 loss to the Lennox Ladybirds on the road.
Lennox started the game on an 8-0 run, en route to a 13-6 first quarter lead. The Ladybirds extended that margin at the half, then held the Bulldogs to just four third quarter points. Madison outscored Lennox in the fourth quarter, thanks to 7 points from Carlie Lambert, but fell to 0-4 on the season.
Stadium Sports Player of the Game Yui Onodera led the Madison effort with 9 points and two steals. Kaitlynn Higgins and Carlie Lambert had 8 and 7 points, respectively, as Madison shot 50-percent from the foul line. Kristen White and Kassie Loe led the 2-2 Ladybirds with 9 points apiece, as Lennox out-rebounded Madison 35-21.
The Bulldogs next play defending State Champion Vermillion at home on January 8th.
