A fourth-quarter rally by third-ranked Lennox sent Madison home with its first loss of the season last night. The Orioles stopped the sixth-ranked Bulldogs in Lennox, 61-56.
Madison opened the game with a 7-0 run, only to have Lennox take the lead halfway through the first quarter. But the Bulldogs regained the lead 17-11 and would hold off several challenges to lead 43-38 at the end of the third quarter.
The tandem of Andy Kruse and Brandon Klinger combined for 16 of Lennoxs 23 fourth-quarter points as the Orioles rallied for the win. Lennox improves to 2-0 on the season, while the Bulldogs fall to 2-1. The win also marked the first win for Lennox over Madison in three seasons.
Kruse had 18 points to lead to Orioles, while Brandon Klinger added 16. Madisons Tony Fiegen led all scorers with 21 points and 13 rebounds, while Trevor Freet added sixteen to earn Player of the Game honors.
The Bulldog boys are home Monday night, as they face Deuel in the last game before Christmas Break. You can catch the game on Dakotas Best, AM 1390, starting at 7:10.
