Madison Gymnasts Take 2nd at State

On Friday, February 17th, the Madison Lady Bulldogs took 2nd place at the State Gymnastics Meet with a score of 141.979 behind the defending champions the Deuel Cardinals who scored 145.846.

Standings for the other competing teams included Chamberlain 129.395, Hot Springs 126.996, Milbank 126.994, Britton Hecla 124.710, Stanley County 124.161, Wagner 120.794 and Vermillion 119.177.

Deuel's score set a new state meet record. The competition took place in Brookings at the Swiftel Center.

Individual competition will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. Madison will have four gymnasts competing for the all-around title: senior Laura Blom, senior Danielle Bloom, Lexi Finck and Shannon Winthers.
