Bulldog Results from State A Wrestling Tournament

The Madison Bulldogs had five wrestlers competing in the State “A” Wrestling Tournament in at the Barnett Center in Aberdeen.

In the end, Matt Goth was the only Bulldog to earn a medal for his 7th place finish. Wrestling at 152-pounds, Goth began the 1st round pinning Kaiden White Bear of Sturgis. After a 4-0 loss to Huron’s Reagan Francom in the 2nd round, he then pinned Aberdeen Central’s Alex Ruelas. In the next matchup, Goth fell to Rapid City Central’s Shane O’Connell 4-1 in the 3rd round wrestlebacks. He claimed 7th place defeating Kaiden White Bear of Sturgis with a 3-1 decision.

Other Bulldogs who competed included: Kaiden Dorris at 113 pounds who was pinned by Alan Heidinger of Douglas/New Underwood/RC Christian in the first round. He was then defeated by Vermillion's Brandon Steenholdt.

Tyler Currey at 182 pounds fell to Tyler Kleinsasser of Huron, then pinned Vermillion's Avery Garcia, before finishing with a fall to Micah Roubideaux of Rapid City Central in an 8-1 decision.

Blake Gusso at 220 pounds fell to Devon O'Farrell of Sioux Falls Washington and was then pinned by John Wilcox of Sturgis Brown.

Ayson Jones at 285 pounds was pinned by Dakota Valley' Tanner Lambert. Jones then pinned Robert McCradle of Mitchell in his first-round wrestle-backs, but was then pinned by Harrisburg's Dylan Van Steenberg.
