Bulldogs upset Lennox

The third-ranked Madison Bulldogs shook off an early deficit last night to win over second-ranked Lennox 47-42 at the Madison Middle School Gym.

Lennox started the game on a 6-0 run and took a 14-12 lead after the first quarter. Madison rallied in the second quarter to take a 25-20 halftime lead, only to have the Orioles rally in the second half to take the lead at 39-37. From there, Madison went on a 10-3 run, sparked by a late 3-pointer by Ryan Steffenson to seal the win and improve to 6-1 on the season.

Three Bulldogs finished the night in double figures. Tony Fiegen led Madison with 16 points and 11 rebounds, while Chad White added 14. Ryan Steffenson earned “Player of the Game” honors with 11 points.

Jared Vlaustin erupted for 11 second-half points as the Oriole forward led all scorers with 17 points. Austin Eichacker had 16 points, as Lennox fell to 5-1 heading into tonight’s game at home against Milbank.

The Bulldogs home stand continues this Thursday, when the Bulldogs host Flandreau Public.
