Bulldogs ground Fliers

The Madison Bulldogs upped their record to 7-1 last night with a convincing 63-48 win over Flandreau at the Middle School Gym.
Flandreau scored first on a Nathan Johnson layup, but Madison went on to outscore Flandreau 21-6 in the opening quarter. The Fliers went on a 9-4 run in the second quarter to cut the halftime lead to 10, but the second-ranked Bulldogs pulled away in the second half to get the win.
Madison junior Tony Fiegen led all scorers with 21 points. Jeremy Jensen came off the bench to earn “Player of the Game” honors with a 14-point performance, while Fiegen pulled down eight rebounds.
Russ Hendrickson led the 2-5 Fliers with 18 points. Johnson added 14 points, while Ben Parsley pulled down 12 rebounds.
Madison hits the road on Saturday, taking on Sisseton. Flandreau next plays Tuesday, hosting Deuel.
