Fliers clip Bulldogs

Foul trouble spelled doom for the Madison girls' basketball team last night as Flandreau topped the Lady Bulldogs 49-44 in Flandreau.
Madison took an early lead, as Kaitlynn Higgins nailed three three-pointers to put the Dogs up 10-8. Flandreau went on a 7-0 run to re-take the lead in the second quarter to go up at the half.
Madison rallied to take a brief lead in the fourth quarter, only to have starters Higgins, Carlie Lambert and Alyssa Klapperich foul out. Flandreau's Whitney Olson took over, scoring 12 points in the final frame as the Fliers evened their record at 4-4.
Olson earned "Player of the Game" honors with 18 points and 9 rebounds. Higgins was the leading scorer for 1-5 Madison with 12 points.
The Bulldogs are back in action tonight as they take on Sisseton. Pre-game from Sisseton is at 6:10 on AM 1390.
