Bulldogs to Face Ellsworth at Hanson Classic

The Madison boys are on the road today for an afternoon game with Ellsworth, Minnesota. Today's game is part of the 2008 Hanson Classic, taking place in Mitchell.

The Bulldogs are looking to bounce back from a tough 64-49 loss to the Flandreau Indian School Tuesday night. The loss was just the Bulldogs' second loss at home in three years, as well as their first two-game losing streak in three seasons. Madison head coach Mike Ricke says the team is not in panic mode.

Ellsworth is led by Minnesota prep standout Cody Schilling, who is on pace to break the Minnesota state scoring record. Ricke says holding Schilling will be key, but not at the expense at forgetting the rest of the team.

Ellsworth is coming off its first-ever Minnesota State Championship. So far the Panthers are 9-2 on the season and consistently beating larger schools like Marshall. Head coach Markus Okeson doesn't know a lot about the Bulldogs, but feels if the Panthers can play their game, they'll win.

Tip-off from the Mitchell Corn Palace is at 3:30; Matt Hendrickson and Matt Groce will bring you all the action, starting at 3:10 on Dakota's Best, AM 1390.
