Bulldog Mat-Rats take second in Arlington

The Madison wrestling team had an outstanding Saturday afternoon, earning second place at the 34th annual Kingsbury County Invitational at Arlington High School.

The Bulldogs finished the day with 154.5 points. Lyman took the team title with 190 points, while West Central was third with 144.5 points. Other teams in the top-10 included Brookings in fifth, Flandreau in seventh, and Kingsbury County in tenth.

Andy Williams was the only champion for Madison, as he won the 135-pound weight class. Matt Goth at 103, Tom Shoemaker at 119, Jacob Aus at 145, and Corde Mclaughlin at 160 all took second.

In consolation action, Mason Riedesel took first at 215 pounds, while Tyler Converse took third at 125. Zach Ordal also earned medalist honors, placing fourth at 152-pounds.

The Bulldogs head south to Yankton today to face the Bucks and Sioux Falls Washington in Triangular action. First matches start at 5:30.
