State "A" Boys first round pairings released

The South Dakota High School Activities Association has released the first-round pairings for the 2008 State A Boys Basketball Tournament. The tournament runs from March 13-15 at the Sioux Falls Arena.

Madison comes in with the number-7 seed, after finishing with record of 17-6 and 35.00 seed points. The Bulldogs will face second-seed Lennox next Thursday at 7:00. The 20-3 Orioles moved up into that spot after Sisseton upset Aberdeen Roncalli last night in overtime.

In other first-round match-ups, top-seed Red Cloud faces 8th-seed Chamberlain while fourth-seed Platte-Geddes faces fifth-seed Sioux Valley. Tri-Valley draws the third-seed and will face sixth-seed Sisseton in the last game of the first round.

State tournament tickets are available today only at Madison High School. Adult reserved tickets are $32 each while student general admission tickets are $20. Both tickets are good for all games in the tournament. To place your order, stop in at Madison High School or call 256-7706.
