Postma medals in Vermillion

It was a blustery start to the Madison girls golf season as the Lady Bulldogs headed south to take on Vermillon Monday in dual action. The Tanagers won the conference matchup at The Bluffs, 206-224.
Both teams had to windy conditions and 45-degree temperatures in the season opener. Despite the less-than-ideal conditions, head coach Bud Postma saw several good things out of the Bulldogs.
Junior Brianna Postma earned medalist honors in the dual, edging Vermillions Kelsey Osborne, 48-49. Casey Bird finished tied for third for the Bulldogs with a 53, while Kallyn Bloom, Tia Limmer, and Amanda Bernard all rounded out the scoring in the 9-hole event. Postma says Briannas medalist performance was a great way to start out the season.
The Bulldogs head to Lennox Friday for a triangular with the Orioles and West Central. The Trojans are the defending runners-up, but Postma feels his girls will be in the mix on Friday. Tee-off is at 9:00.
