The Dakota State softball team swept a doubleheader with NCAA-division 2 opponent Northern State Tuesday at Thue Complex.
Starting pitcher Dakota Novotny pitched both games- going all 7 innings and giving up just 4 hits in an 8-1 win and pitching all 6 innings and striking out 5 in an 8-nothing win.
Head Coach Ken Prorok says Novotny gives the team great confidence and gets great defensive play behind her because of it.
Prorok also says the team has proven a lot to him in the past few games- and hes proud of the way the team has come together despite an erratic schedule.
The Trojans are now 8-and-19 on the year and will head to Jamestown this weekend to resume conference play.
