Broncos knock off defending State Champs.

Justin Jaspers hit a 2-RBI single in the eighth inning to put the Madison Broncos up for good as they knocked off Dell Rapids PBR 9-8 yesterday at Flynn Field.
Jaspers' hit capped off a three-run rally after the defending State Champions from Dell Rapids held a 7-5 lead halfway through the game. Brian Mette pitched the win in relief of Chris Brozik while Dan Rhodes got the save. Colby Emery led Madison with a home run and a single, while Monte Wire, Jesse Brown and Jaspers all had 2-hit days.
For PBR, Mike Davis had a home run, while Sheldon Davis, Kevin Krull, Trevor Mergen, and Robert Peterson all had hits. Pitching wise, Landon Klock took the loss in relief of Bruce Mogen.
In other Corn Belt League games, Lennox Poet rallied from last weeks season-opening loss to pound Harrisburg Showplace 12-1, despite a 4-4 performance from Scott Mannes.And the Montrose Muckdogs ran their record to 2-0 in the league as they downed the Colman A's 11-7.
And on KJAM, AM 1390, Nate Henry had a five-hit, 4 RBI day as the Dell Rapids Mudcats opened its league schedule with a 14-5 pounding of the Flandreau Cardinals. Former Mudcat Chad Stadem led Flandreau with 2 hits and 2 runs scored.
There were no reports from the Salem-Canton and the Canova-Humboldt games.
