Trojan Field will be a busy place over the next few hours as Day one of the State "A" Track meet gets underway today. Field events will start at 9:30 with Track events beginning at 10:00.
Close to 800 athletes will be competing in preliminary and final round action, including 401 girls and 391 boys. Despite a good chance of showers and thunderstorms, Madison Central superintendent Vince Schaefer says the show will go on.
This is the second time in four years that Madison has hosted the first day of competition. With so many athletes and fans expected in Madison today, Schaefer says to expect delays around town.
Jammin' Country 103 and Dakota's Best 1390 will provide updates throughout the day, starting at 11:15 and continuing each hour after that.
