MHS Netters complete rebuilding season

The Madison boys’ tennis team faced a lot of challenges this season. A young and inexperienced team combined with difficult weather conditions and several cancellations would spell doom for any team. But the team continued on, finishing their season earlier this month at the State Tennis Meet in Rapid City.

Head Coach Doug Sims says while wins were few and far between for the boys this year, the team made great strides throughout the season. One area in particular Sims saw development was the Bulldogs becoming more aggressive in their play.

One player in particular that proved to be a strong leader was Andy Lauck, the only returning starter from last year’s squad.

With a more experienced group of young players coming back next year, Sims says expectations will be higher.
