Three MHS players nameed to All-Region baseball team

Three members of the Madison high school baseball team earned post-season honors yesterday. The South Dakota High School Baseball Association named juniors Taylor Jamison and Justin Pederson, and senior Nick Bird as first-team All-Region 2B selections.

A starting second-baseman, Jamison batted .387 on the season for Madison, with 3 doubles and an on-base percentage of .500. Pederson batted .364 for the season with a pair of home runs, while Bird went 3-1 on the mound with 41 strikeouts in over 24 innings pitched.

Other area first-team selections include Chester/Colman-Egan/Flandreau pitcher Deon Entringer, Levi Loudenberg of Howard, and Alex Antonen and Jacob Maras of Hamlin.

Milbank was the region champion, downing Madison in the finals. Parkston capped off an undefeated season on Monday, winning the State “B” Title with a 9-4 decision over Garretson.
