Madison routs C-Hawks in Homecoming Action
Posted on Monday, October 1, 2007
The Madison Bulldogs got their first win of the season Friday night in high school football, a 39-2 blowout over the Canton C-Hawks.
The game didn't look too promising for the Bulldogs as punter Andrew Strom was forced to punt the ball out of play in the Canton end zone, forcing a safety. Cantons lead was short-lived, however, as the Bulldogs reeled off 39-straight points to improve to 1-5 on the season.
Several Bulldogs had outstanding nights, including running back Gerard McCarthy, who ran for 121 yards and scored three TDs in the game. But the night belonged to senior quarterback Lance Tolley, who led the night with 138 rushing yards, 3 rushing touchdowns and 1 passing TD. Assistant Coach Darin Swenson says Tolley had a complete night at QB, after showing several weeks of steady improvement.
The Bulldogs have this Friday off, then resume action October 12, in Minnesota, against the Pipestone Arrows.
