Community Centers offer swimmers summer time relief.

With the closure of the outdoor pool in Madison, area swimmers will be turning to the Madison Community Center for their aquatic needs.
The nearly 50-year old outdoor pool was recently dug up in May, as voters had approved a bond issue of just over three-million dollars for a new aquatics center. In the meantime, swimmers will be able to take a cool dip at the Community Centers swimming pool. Madison Aquatics Coordinator Carol Shaver says they pushed up the pools maintenance in anticipation of the swimmers.
As a result of the construction, the center will have special rates for young and old alike.
This summer, the Community Center is also offering a reduced summer membership rate to tie in with the discount days at the aquatic center. Shaver says its also a good opportunity to promote the community center to people who normally would not otherwise visit.
For more information about the summertime membership or the discount days for the pool, contact the Community Center at 256-5837.
