Knights of Columbus Fishing Derby this Sunday
Posted on Tuesday, June 3, 2008
This weekend, young anglers across the area will be taking part in the annual Knights of Columbus Fishing Derby. The derby starts Sunday, June 8th at 6:30.
This is the 20th anniversary that the Knights of Columbus has sponsored the fishing derby. Craig Falor of the Knights of Columbus says their goal is to provide a positive experience for area kids.
An average of sixty kids usually take part in this event. The derby is open to all area kids and they must fish from the shoreline; no fishing allowed off the docks or off boats. Falor says the Knights of Columbus work to make the derby a fun event.
There is no cost for kids to take part in the fishing derby. Registration will take place at 6:30 east of the spillway at Lake Herman. For more information, call Falor at 256-3816.
