New Boating License Laws Take Effect in July

Boat and snowmobile owners can expect changes in how their vehicles are licensed. Starting July 1st, the State of South Dakota will switch over to a staggered system for boat and snowmobile license renewal.
Local Conservation officer Brandon Gust says the change will bring renewal of boats and snowmobiles in line with other vehicles in the state.
In other outdoor news, Gust reports that fishing remains the same, though a few more Walleye have been picked up on the east side of Lake Madison. The lakes to the north still have quite a few hot spots, especially Richmond Lake in Brown County and Lake Cochrane in Deuel County.
