Dittman steps down at DSU

Bombshells last Friday at Dakota State University as long-time womens basketball head coach Jeff Dittman stepped down to become the head coach at Hastings College in Nebraska. Dittman had been at DSU since 1993 and was the winningest coach in school history with 245 victories.
Dittman takes over for Tony Hobson, who left Hastings to become the new head coach at Division-2 Fort Hayes State in Kansas. At Fridays press conference in Nebraska, Dittman says he will take his time in transitioning the team into his style of play.
The Lady Broncos won the N-A-I-A national title three times under Hobson. That legacy of success was one of the reasons Dittman accepted the position.
Last season, Hastings finished with a 12-15 record. One area that Dittman will look to bring to bring to the Lady Broncs is a greater emphasis on defense.
A national search for Dittmans replacement at DSU is underway. The Lady Ts and the Lady Broncos are set to play November first at the Morningside Classic in Sioux City, Iowa.
