Bulldogs Finish 10th at State A Golf

The 2007 State “A” Golf tournament wrapped up yesterday afternoon at the Pine Hills Golf Course in Milbank. Madison finished 10th in the tournament with a team score of 736, slipping from 8th place yesterday and a 5th place finish last year.
Head coach Brian Guischer says yesterday's final round was disappointing for the team.
Heavily-favored Vermillion took the team title firing a two-day total of 643. Aberdeen Roncalli finished second with a 658, while Sioux Falls Christian was third. West Central and Harrisburg finished fourth and fifth, respectively.
Sioux Falls Christian's Rainey Reynolds bested Aberdeen Roncalli's Ben Heller and day one leader Alex Schaak of Vermillion in a sudden-death playoff to take medalist honors with a 156. For the Bulldogs, Tony Fiegen finished three shots out of the top-20, firing a 172 for 22nd Place. Brad Stearns finished 50th for the Bulldogs with a 183. Sean Campbell fired a 185 for 53rd place and Justin Olson took 72nd with a 196.
