The Dakota State Trojans baseball team made some news this past weekend with the signing of to transfers to the team. Pitchers Jared Donahue of Winner, and Lincoln Gassman of Canova will both transfer to the Trojans for the upcoming season.
Donahue was recruited out of high school by South Dakota State where he was red-shirted last year. He was a three time All State selection while at Winner High School posting a 0.69 E-R-A during his career there. D-S-U Head Coach Dean Berry says that because of Donahues ability, there will be high expectations for him at D-S-U.
Gassman is a graduate of Howard High School, and spent last year pitching at Marshalltown Community College in Iowa, and this summer is pitching in the Carolina/Virginia Collegiate League in North Carolina. Berry said that Gassman received some postseason honors at M-C-C that has the Trojan coaches excited.
Both pitchers will be joining a Trojan ball club that finished 24-17 overall and 10-7 in the DAC last year.
