Madison champions crowned at State Hershey Track Meet

Several Madison athletes earned top honors during the State Hershey Track meet last weekend in Watertown.

Carly Carper took home three gold medals in the 13-14 year old division, winning the 100-meter dash and the long jump, and as part of the 400-meter relay team. The other members of that team include Bree Olson, Samantha Leighton, and Taylor Stratton.

Leighton also earned 4th place in the softball throw, as well as 4th in 200-meter dash. Hannah Williams of Flandreau did well in the 9-10 year old girls division, bringing home 6th place in the 100-meter dash and 8th place in the softball throw.

State champions from last weekend's meet will have their times and distances compared to other athletes for a chance to qualify for the national meet in Hershey, Pennsylvania, July 31-August 3rd.
