Heart of the Lakes a success

The annual Heart of the Lakes Senior games wrapped up over a week ago to a resounding success. Athletes 50 years of age and over competed in several events in and around Madison.

115 athletes took part in various events, from softball to basketball and track and field. Games organizer Bernie Schuurmans says those are very good numbers.

If you missed your chance to participate, Schuurmans says there are several senior games coming up in the area.

The events wrap up with the State Senior Games, which will take place September 4-7 in Mitchell.
