The Madison 14-year old Teeners had to overcome a tough first game, as they made it to the region championship game Sunday in Clear Lake.
Madison dropped its first game to Milbank 16-2, then came back through the consolation rounds to knock off Volga, Clear Lake, and the Madison 13-year olds to move into the title game. Head Coach Dean Geherls credits the boys for hanging tough in the tournament.
Madison faced Milbank once again in the title game, this time losing 15-2. Geherls says Milbank will be one of the favorites heading into the state tournament.
The State A Teener tournament gets underway Friday in Winner.
