Bulldogs win at Milbank, fourth in Dell Rapids

The Madison golf team is off to a busy start. The Bulldogs took first last Thursday at the Milbank Invitational, then took fourth at the Dell Rapids Invitational.

Despite 35 mile-an-hour wins, the Bulldogs took home the team title in Milbank with a team score of 356. Host team Milbank was six shots back at 362 while Watertown was third.

Justin Olson took top honors, edging Milbank's Ryan Patnoe in a three-hole playoff to finish with an 80 on the day. Mike Sullivan was 8th win an 88, while Sean Campbell and Mitch Manthey fired 94s to finish in the top-20.

Sioux Falls Christian blistered the field on Monday to take the Dells Invitational, firing a 316 on the day. Madison finished in fourth with a team score of 341, four shots behind runner-up Dell Rapids.

Rainy Renyolds took medalist honors with a 69 for Christian. For Madison, For Madison, Justin Olson finished sixth with an 81, Mike Sullivan finished 14th with an 85, while Shawn Campbell fired an 86 for 18th.

Madison is back in action Friday at the Huron Invitational. Tee-off is scheduled for 10:00 a.m.
