Harrisburg made short work of Madison last night during their homecoming. The Tigers routed Madison 56-6 in a game stopped on the mercy rule.
Harrisburg roared out to a 28-0 first quarter lead, as Joey Brown rushed for one touchdown and returned a punt 68 yards for another score. Two more touchdowns in the second quarter for Harrisburg gave them a 42-0 halftime lead.
Madison finally scored late in the third quarter as quarterback Chris Shafer scored on a keeper from three yards out. But backup quarterback Steve Miller but the game away for Harrisburg with two touchdowns, ending the game with 4:54 left in the fourth quarter.
Preston Harris rushed for 51 yards to lead Harrisburg, while Shafer led Madison with 91 passing yards. The Bulldogs are at home next week, hosting Dell Rapids in Madison's homecoming.
