Pipestone sweeps Madison softball

The Madison softball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader last Sunday as they took on Pipestone, Minnesota. The Arrows won the first game 12-7, then took the second game 8-4.

Madison head coach Dawn Wiebers says while the losses dropped the Bulldogs to 4-6 on the season, it was a much better showing over Pipestone from last year.

With just a couple of weeks left in the season, Wiebers says there are still some areas Madison needs to work on, namely hitting.

Madison faces another Arrows squad this Sunday, this time the Watertown Arrows. Despite being a young team, Wiebers is expecting a good couple of games from Watertown.

The games will take place at Thue Field; first pitch will be at 1:00 and 2:30.
