The Madison High School softball team wrapped up its season this weekend at the State B Softball Tournament in Sioux Falls. The Bulldogs went 0-3 in the tournament, and were eliminated Saturday.
Madison played defending champ West Central in the opening round as the Trojans downed the Bulldogs 6-1. Head coach Dawn Wiebers says cold hitting hurt MHS.
Errors hurt Madison in the second game, as Tri-Valley scored on Bulldog errors in the fourth and fifth innings to win 9-5. In the elimination game, Tea Area ended the Bulldogs season, 14-8.
West Central won its third straight Class B crown, defeating Lennox 13-4. Four Bulldogs earned All-State Tournament Honors. Brianna Postma and Logan Johnson earned first-team honors while Nikki Seitz and Ashley Curry were selected as honorable mentions.
