Madison boys qualify for State Cross-Country

The Madison boys cross-country team has qualified for next weeks State "A" Cross Country Meet. The Bulldogs punched their ticket yesterday at the Region 2A meet in Dell Rapids.

Madison took runner-up honors with 46 points while the Flandreau Indian School ran away with the championship with 16 points. Three Bulldogs finished in the top-10 as Logan Wray finished in third. Mason Sullivan and Zach Hansen took seventh and eighth place, respectively. Daniel Grassrope of FIS took the top honors in the race.

Dell Rapids took the girls title, edging Garretson 33-40. Deuel locked down the third place spot to also qualify for State, while the Bulldogs finished fourth with 63 points. Brittney Olfert and Kara Seitz both qualified for the State Meet; Olfert took sixth in the race while Seitz finished in 13th place. Garretsons Lindsey Bohl won the race.

The State "A" Cross-Country Meet takes place next Saturday at Broadland Creek Golf Course in Huron.
