Bulldogs fifth at State Cross Country

The Madison boys’ cross-country team had an outstanding showing at the State “A” Cross-country meet last Saturday. The Bulldogs placed fifth in the meet, which took place at the Broadland Creek Golf Course in Huron.

Cheyenne-Eagle Butte took the team title with 39 points, as four runners finished in the top-20. Flandreau Indian was runner-up, followed by Redfield and Milbank. The Bulldogs scored 111 points to take fifth. Individually for the Bulldogs, eigth-grader Mason Sullivan finished in 10th with a time of 17-minutes, 52-point-51 seconds, while freshman Logan Wray took 19th with a time of 18 minutes, 4-point-86 seconds. Zach Hansen finished 34th, while Jeremy Rud was 50th.

For the Girls, Kara Seitz finished in 50th with a time of 18 minutes, 10-point-9 seconds. Chamberlain won the girls title, while local teams West Central and Dell Rapids placed third and seventh, respectively.
